The Sinking City 2 Mods
A dedicated The Sinking City 2 page exists on Nexus Mods, but Frogwares has not published an official editor or mod SDK in the launch support materials checked on August 24, 2026.
Current status
Nexus Mods has a dedicated game hub. The catalog is new and will change quickly during the weeks after launch.
No official editor is listed. The Steam features and Frogwares support knowledgebase do not currently advertise Workshop integration, an SDK or a level editor.
Unreal Engine 5 does not equal official support. Community tools may work with packaged assets, but their compatibility and permissions depend on each release.
What early mods usually change
Visual and ultrawide fixes are common first releases. These can adjust aspect ratio, post-processing, field of view or lighting without adding new story content.
Balance edits can affect resources and combat. They may reduce difficulty or change the intended survival loop, so keep them separate from a first unmodified playthrough.
Do not assume a mod fixes an official known issue. Check Frogwares' support page first for driver advice, graphics workarounds and patch notes.
Safe installation checklist
Back up saves before changing files. Keep a copy outside the game directory and record which mods were installed for that save.
Read the required patch and loader version. A mod made for an earlier executable can crash or silently corrupt behavior after Hotfix 1.0.2.
Install one change at a time. Launch, load a test save and confirm stability before adding the next modification.
Troubleshooting
Remove mods before reporting a game bug. Reproduce the problem on clean files so official support can distinguish a shipped issue from a modification conflict.
Verify game files after uninstalling. Steam, GOG Galaxy and Epic can restore changed packaged files, but they do not replace your separate save backup.
Use trusted download pages. Prefer releases with clear authorship, version history and user reports over anonymous file mirrors.
