The Sinking City 2 Guide: Surviving Arkham

The most reliable survival loop is simple: search carefully, spend resources deliberately, and retreat when a fight is not worth the cost. These tips combine the shipped game rules with Frogwares' launch support guidance.

Combat and ammo

Aim before firing. Frogwares specifically recommends shooting highlighted weak points while aim is focused; this saves ammunition and shortens dangerous encounters.

Running is part of the design. Many encounters can be avoided, so retreat, continue the main objective, and return after upgrading if your health or ammunition is low.

Search before committing to a route. Drawers, lockers, yellow containers and side rooms can supply healing items and ammunition, but exact random pickups can vary between runs.

Talents and Dream Essence

Complete Investigation Space links. Correctly connecting related clues grants Talent Points, while optional investigations can also reward Dream Essence.

Use the Talent Table in a Safe Room. The table becomes available from the third Safe Room and is where Talents are unlocked and equipped.

Buy survival value first. On a first run, extra inventory flexibility and combat consistency are more useful than a narrow late-game specialization.

Inventory and exploration

Open E.R.C. crates whenever you can. Inventory expansions are found inside E.R.C. crates and on tables in some dungeons; the crates also make exploration worth the risk.

Optional investigations never block the main story. They are still valuable because they can unlock supplies, routes and weapon upgrades that reduce pressure later.

Use Safe Rooms deliberately. Save, reorganize your pack and plan the next stretch before leaving; the game rewards preparation more than improvisation.

Current PC notes

Hotfix 1.0.2 is the latest listed PC update checked on August 24, 2026. It adds an outdated-driver warning, improves PSO-related hitches and fixes a rare navigation-mesh crash.

Change graphics settings from the title screen when possible. Frogwares lists visual glitches after mid-game preset changes among the known issues; restarting or reloading is the suggested workaround.
