The Sinking City 2 on Nintendo Switch 2

There is no native Nintendo Switch 2 version listed by Frogwares or Nintendo as of August 24, 2026. The confirmed platforms are Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Current platform status

Launch platforms are PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Official Steam, PlayStation and Xbox pages all list the August 18, 2026 release.

Nintendo does not list the sequel. A search for a native Switch 2 product page returns the first The Sinking City, not The Sinking City 2.

Do not confuse it with the first game

The Sinking City from 2019 has a Nintendo Switch release. That older game can run through Switch 2 backward compatibility, but it is a separate title.

The sequel uses heavier current-generation technology. It is built in Unreal Engine 5 and officially targets current PC, PlayStation and Xbox hardware.

Could a port happen later?

Frogwares has not announced one. Any future port would need a direct studio or Nintendo confirmation; retailer placeholders and speculation are not release announcements.

The first game's later Switch release is precedent, not proof. It shows the studio has worked on Nintendo hardware, but it does not establish a sequel roadmap.

Portable alternatives

The Steam version can be considered for PC handhelds. Compatibility and performance vary by device, and the official minimum specification still requires Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, an SSD and an 8 GB GPU.

Xbox cloud play is another portable route. Microsoft lists cloud gaming for owners with an eligible Game Pass tier, though that is not a Switch 2 app.
